MiMo stands for "Miami Modern," the optimistic architectural style of the 1950s and '60s. The historic district along Biscayne Boulevard preserves motels and buildings from that era, with their original signage.

The best light in MiMo
The secret here is to start with sun and finish with neon. We plan the session to run through sunset and blue hour.
- Golden hour: pastel colors look warm and soft.
- Blue hour and night: the sky turns deep blue and the lit signs take center stage.
- Season: November to April nights are cooler and drier; from May to October the evening eases the heat, and we keep an eye on afternoon storms.
What to wear in MiMo
Lean into the era or contrast it with a modern look. What always works: solid colors and a touch of shine.
- Retro: swing skirt, polka dots, hair scarf, red lips.
- Glam: satin, sequins or metallics that catch the neon.
- Colors: white, black, red or pastels; skip very busy prints.
- Couples: a bowling or camp-collar shirt with dress pants, and a period-style dress.
You arrive ready; we coordinate
Some locations require a reservation, permit or venue fee; we confirm the current rules and coordinate it when you book. The motels and shops are private property, so we shoot from the sidewalk or wherever we're given permission.

- We bring discreet portable light for the night portion, where allowed.
