Private sessions usually happen outside public hours, which tends to line up with low, soft light. The garden sets the exact time slot and we confirm it when you book.
- Early: the lake is often still, so reflections come out cleaner.
- Evening: warm light through the pines and open shade along the paths.
- Season: November to April is usually drier and less humid; in summer we keep an eye on afternoon storms.
What to wear at Morikami
The garden is understated and green, so you bring the color. Choose fabrics that move and shades that stand out against water and plants.
- Red, blush, lavender or white stand out against green.
- Skip olive and busy prints: they blend into the background.
- Full skirts are fine, but avoid very long trains: there are bridges, gravel and steps.
